The Grand Tour will film around the world despite pandemic

‘The Grand Tour’ will still film around the world, despite the coronavirus pandemic.

Production on the Amazon Prime Video show halted earlier this year after just one episode of season four – entitled ‘Seamen’ – had aired in December, but now a spokesperson has confirmed the programme’s short-term plans while praising hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.

Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival, Georgia Brown – Director of European Originals – said: "Of all of our talent, these guys are fearless. They will go anywhere, they will do anything.

"So no, it continues. We have more ‘Grand Tour’ coming, we have more of their individual projects coming…

"Every single show has been impacted, but it’s not stopping our ambition to go around the world and film in these incredible places."

And Georgia insisted ‘The Grand Tour’ will continue to live up to its name and deliver the scale of adventure fans have come to expect.

She added: "We’re not downsizing, put it that way."

Only ‘Seamen’ was released on December 13 last year due to the ongoing pandemic, with further episodes yet to follow.

However, Jeremy recently hinted the series could return to the small screens sooner rather than later after revealing the trio were plotting their next move.

Alongside a photo of the long-running co-stars on set, he wrote: "Today’s important work. Planning the next adventure."

What’s more, the trio’s former show, BBC’s ‘Top Gear’, resumed filming in June after a break due to the health crisis.
