The Duchess of Cornwall has "knighted a farmer" with a leek at the South of England Show.
The 69-year-old royal serves as the president of the South of England Agricultural Society and during her tour at the event, an actor pretended to be a grumpy farmer and asked her to "knight me, please".
He told the Duchess: "I’m wearing thigh-high rubber just for you, Madam."
The Duchess subsequently tapped the man on the shoulder, prompting him to complain: "Is that it, just the one shoulder?"
But he added: "Oh you aren’t the Queen, you can’t do two?"
At that point, the Duchess declined the bizarre request, but continued with her tour of the South of England Show.
Prior to the Duchess’ arrival, the England Agricultural Society admitted they were "honoured" to be hosting the British royal.
The Chairman of the charity, Charlie Burgoyne, said: "We are honoured to welcome our President, The Duchess of Cornwall to our 50th South of England Show."
Charlie also said he hoped the Duchess would "enjoy" the "spectacular" horticultural displays they have created and are on display during the showcase.
He commented: "It’s an extremely special year for the Society and we hope that Her Royal Highness will enjoy some of the spectacular displays that will be featured across the showground."
