‘The Deceived’ cast were left spooked by spirits on the set of the supernatural drama.
Catherine Walker got the creeps while filming the Channel 5 show – which also features Emmett J Scanlan and Paul Mescal – in Holestone House in Ireland, as the gothic building was decorated with crucifixes and eerie rooms.
Cathrine told the Daily Star newspaper: "There were certain bedrooms that weren’t so great to be in. They had crucifixes in odd places. It was very odd. Like randomly there would this crucifix on a wall. And there was this amazing grand hallway and then all these tiny not-so-nice rooms."
The spooky drama follows former ‘Hollyoaks’ star Emmett as Michael, a married lecturer who has an affair with one of his students Ophelia – played by Emily Reid – before things take a very dark turn.
While the cast didn’t spot any ghosts wandering the property, they did manage to find some spirits in the liquor cabinet.
Emmett joked: "There was an atmosphere there but the only spirits we saw was gin in a bottle and we swiped a little bit of whisky from the cabinet."
He recently insisted stories like ‘The Deceived’ are vital to shining a light on "psychological and physical abuse".
The 41-year-old actor said: "I think any story that touches on and raises awareness of psychological and physical abuse is important to tell, anytime.
"And there is no time like now. It’s very relevant."
Emmett also opened up about Michael’s mysterious and sinister intentions, as he insisted his character "enjoys the game, the attention, the power, the danger, the romance".
He added: "Micheal is very intelligent and charming. He uses his power and status, consciously and probably unconsciously, to his advantage.
"He’s a narcissist, an egomaniac and incredibly talented at manipulating situations like you said."
