The Chuckle Brothers are to host their own Saturday teatime series.
The well-loved children’s double act – comprised of Barry and Paul Elliott – will return to screens this year with their new television show ‘Chuckle Time’ on Channel 5.
The programme is made up of 12 hour-long episodes and will see the Chuckle Brothers introduce funny internet clips and perform classic sketches.
Channel 5 told Digital Spy: "The Chuckle Brothers have spent their lives falling over and making us laugh, and now they are watching us makes fools of ourselves as the public and audience upload fails, flops and funnies onto the internet."
‘Chuckle Time’ marks the first project the duo have done since their iconic kids’ show ‘ChuckleVision’, which aired on CBBC, came to an end in 2009 following 21 series.
The pair haven’t been on screen as much as they had hoped when ‘ChuckleVision’ was pulled off air and they were even overlooked by ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ bosses.
Barry said recently: "I’d probably do ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
"We were asked and they were talking to us about it but nothing came of it. I think they thought we weren’t nasty enough."
Paul added: "Maybe one day we’ll give it a go. It would be fun, as long as they’ve got whisky in there and not just beer and wine."
However, their screen time hasn’t been completely non-existent as the Chuckle Brothers – whose famous catchphrase was "from me to you" – recently delighted the nation with their hilarious cameo on ‘Benidorm’.
