The Chase’s Mark Labbett wants Brian Blessed to play him in TV drama

Mark Labbett wants Brian Blessed to play him on screen.
The 54-year-old star – best known for his appearances on ‘The Chase’ – suggested the booming actor would be a perfect fit to portray him if the ITV quiz show was ever turned into a drama.
Admitting he’d like to take on the role himself, Mark said: "Me! Who else?
"You need someone who’s larger than life – a younger Brian Blessed would have been perfect for me. That big booming voice."
His co-star Jenny Ryan also insisted she could play herself in the hypothetical project, but named ‘Cilla’ star Sheridan Smith as her ideal casting.
She added: "That’s really tough. I’d like to play myself. But I think Sheridan Smith."
While fellow ‘The Chase’ quizzer Paul Sinha chose ‘California Highway Patrol’ actor Erik Estrada to play him, the show’s host Bradley Walsh has his heart set on seeing a Hollywood hunk bring him to life in a drama.
He quipped: "Oh… Brad Pitt! Leonardo DiCaprio, Jude Law … anyone handsome. Orlando Bloom …"
‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ star Anne Hegerty wondered if she could pick Brad’s former flame, asking: "Can I have Angelina Jolie?"
Shaun Wallace also had his say but couldn’t choose a specific actor, instead simply suggesting he’d enjoy being portrayed by "a big Hollywood star".
He added: "Some young and upcoming actor I’d imagine.
"It’d be nice to have a big Hollywood star, but I don’t know who!"
The team will be reunited on air next week for spin-off show ‘Beat The Chasers’, which sees them join forces to try and stop a contestant from walking away with up to £100,000.
The contestants initially have the chance to bank £5,000 – but they’re out if they get their first question wrong – before then choosing whether to face two, three, four or all five Chasers to try and earn the top prize.
If the players get a question wrong, the clock ticks down, and whoever runs out of time first is the loser.
