‘The Chase’ is set to get a new Chaser.
The ITV quiz show’s host Bradley Walsh has confirmed bosses have signed up a new mastermind for the show, which turned a decade old in June.
He told ‘Good Morning Britain’ on Monday (11.11.19): "It’s accessible, people love it, it’s ten years old now.
"What can you say? We’ve got a brand new chaser coming in for another new series now. It’s all good."
A spokesperson for the popular teatime programme has told The Sun Online: "A new Chaser will be revealed in due course."
All of the current chasers – Anne Hegerty (The Governess), Mark Labbett (The Beast), Shaun Wallace (The Dark Destroyer) , Paul Sinha (The Sinnerman) and Jenny Ryan (The Vixen) – will remain.
The show, which airs weekdays at 5pm, sees four strangers work together as a team to answer general knowledge questions on this quiz show in a bid to win as much cash as possible and not get caught out by their opponent, one of the Chasers.
Meanwhile, The Vixen recently challenged the ‘X Factor: Celebrity’ judges to appear on ‘The Chase’.
The top quizzer was eliminated from the show before a shock return, and now she wants Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Nicole Scherzinger and host Dermot O’Leary to step into "her world".
She said: "I could take on Simon. I’d love to get him on ‘The Chase’, see how he copes in my world!"
The 37-year-old star recently revealed that she had spoken to producers about forming a supergroup with fellow Chasers Paul and Hegerty, while she also admitted that she would "love" to duet with host Bradley.
She said: "We could form a ‘Chase’ supergroup! Paul Sinha is a very good piano player and singer.
"We’ve duetted before so I’m more than happy to look at how we’d split up the roles. Then Bradley Walsh is really supportive. I’d love to do a duet with him.
"I’m not sure what instruments the others would play if we were to form a band … maybe Anne Hegerty on drums because she likes hitting things!"
