The Chainsmokers finish album

The Chainsmokers have finished their album.
The chart-topping electronic dance duo – comprised of pals Alex Pall and Drew Taggart – recently let news slip that their debut album ‘Memories: Do Not Open’ will be released on April 7, and took to Twitter on Tuesday (28.02.17) to confirm they had finished working on the tracks just six weeks before its scheduled release date.
In a short tweet, the pair simply wrote: "And it’s done… (sic)"
The news comes after 27-year-old Drew accidentally told a reporter during an interview last month at the Grammys – where they took home the gong for Best Dance Recording for their track ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ featuring Daya – the release date for the record, which was supposed to remain a secret until nearer the time.
Drew said: "We’re ready. We’ve got a full album; it’s going to be amazing. It’s coming out April 7, was I supposed to say that?"
To which 31-year-old Alex said: "No, but it’s alright."
Drew then continued: "Okay. Anyway, it’s coming out really soon. It’s called ‘Memories: Do Not Open.’"
The ‘Closer’ hitmakers also revealed their debut venture will be made up of entirely new tracks, aside from recently released lead single ‘Paris’.
Taking part in a Twitter Q&A session recently, one fan asked the pair to reveal something about the upcoming record, to which they responded: "It’s gonna be all new music minus Paris (sic)"
And the duo also hinted that the record will be something of a concept album.
Asked on the social media site what the most exciting thing about their album is, the duo said: "The fact that it tells a story."
Previously, the pair – who have so far only released their music in shorter EPs – claimed they would only release a full studio album if their fans "demand" one.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, they said: "If our fans demand it, then they will get a Chainsmokers album. its up to them. We have ideas and stuff but if we are going to do it, we are going to do it right. we hope."
