Teri Hatcher is reportedly set to join the line-up for a celebrity series of ‘The Great British Bake Off’.
The ‘Desperate Housewives’ actress will swap Wisteria Lane for a tent in the English countryside later this year, as she’s set to appear on Channel 4’s first celebrity series of the popular baking show.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Teri is a bit of a left field choice, but Channel 4 are banking on her adding some real Hollywood glamour to ‘Bake Off’.
"As well as being a Golden Globe-winning actress, Teri is a keen baker and the fact she jetted all this way proves she’s serious about the competition. "It’ll be interesting to see what she makes of hosts Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding, or if she recognises any of her opponents."
Teri will be appearing on the programme – which is set to air in March – to have her bakes judged by Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, who will also be watching the likes of comedian Lee Mack and ‘Loose Women’ star Stacey Solomon.
For 53-year-old Teri, a win in the ‘Bake Off’ tent will mark the second television cooking show trophy she has walked away with, as the self-confessed foodie previously won US cooking show ‘Chopped’ in 2013.
Teri also fronts her own food and life-style series on YouTube, and is mad about cooking.
The upcoming spin-off shows will be the first celebrity series of the popular programme to be aired on Channel 4, after the broadcaster won the rights to the show from the BBC in 2016.
Channel 4 aired its first main series of the show last year, where 33-year-old former Army officer Sophie Faldo was crowned victorious, after wowing Paul and Prue with a seven-layered, honey bee-themed entremet showstopper.
