Taylor Lautner has signed up to star in ‘Cuckoo’.
The ‘Twilight’ hunk is turning his hand to comedy with a role in the BBC Three sitcom, which also stars ‘The Inbetweeners’ actor Greg Davies and former ‘Saturday Night Live’ joker Andy Samberg, The Sun newspaper is reporting.
This will be Taylor’s first foray into TV since his acting debuts as a teenager, when he had small roles in US programmes including ‘The Bernie Mac Show’ and ‘My Own Worst Enemy’.
The 21-year-old star got his big break when he was cast as werewolf Jacob Black in ‘The Twilight Saga’ opposite Kristin Stewart and Robert Pattinson.
It is not yet known what role Taylor will play in ‘Cuckoo’, but his addition to the cast is expected to boost ratings.
The Hollywood heartthrob is best known for his chiselled abs and often appears on-screen shirtless, much to female fans’ delight.
The actor previously insisted he can’t "help" looking so muscular because he has an athletic disposition.
He said: "I just like staying healthy. And I’m a sports freak, so I’m always playing sports. So, I can’t help it!"
