Tamzin Outhwaite has given her boyfriend her "blessing" to leave "in a couple of years" if he ever wants kids of his own.
The 49-year-old actress – who has two daughters, Florence, 12, and Marnie, eight, with her ex-husband Tom Ellis – doesn’t feel as though her partner Tom Child, 29, has to be with her "forever", and she would let him go if he wants to have his own children.
She said: "After my experiences in life, I don’t think I think everything is always forever.
"He hates me saying this, but if he in a couple of years really wanted kids I would give him my blessing.
"I don’t feel like he has to be here forever. I’m just having a lovely time."
The former ‘EastEnders’ actress has found life in her 40s "liberating" because she "doesn’t need" to have more kids, or get married, and she says Tom makes her days "bright and exciting and fun".
Speaking on the ‘Postcards from Midlife’ podcast, she added: "It’s liberating because I’ve got my kids.
"I don’t need to get married and I don’t need children. So actually I’m at the freest point really in my life.
"Having somebody that makes my day to day bright and exciting and fun … he’s like my home, very familiar. But at the same time he feels like my adventure."
In April, Tamzin revealed she and Tom suffered from coronavirus symptoms, but she isn’t sure whether they had the virus.
She said: "I did have symptoms in that first week. I think my partner did too.
"I had a sore throat, a terrible headache and I felt so lethargic. It was not like a normal flu. I didn’t have any fever or chest pain. We didn’t get tested but who knows. You also don’t know if you are going to get it again."
