Take That choose Strictly over X Factor

Take That will perform on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
Although Robbie Williams – who has reunited with the band a number of times since quitting in 1995 – is a judge on this season of ‘The X Factor’, his bandmates have chosen rival ‘Strictly’ over the ITV show for their performance of a new track from their greatest hits album.
A source told The Sun: "The Take That boys have been very torn between singing on ‘Strictly’ or ‘X Factor’, especially with Rob now being a judge on ‘X Factor’. Given ‘Strictly’s huge ratings they decided they were a better fit to the BBC show. Rob will be gutted."
And the snub is a double blow for ‘The X Factor’ as lead singer Gary Barlow, 47, was a judge on the show between 2011 and 2013.
Gary – who will perform on ‘Strictly’ with bandmates Mark Owen and Howard Donald – previously warned Robbie, 44, who will star on the show with his wife Ayda Field, One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson and head judge Simon Cowell, that the job is exhausting and the editing can be ruthless.
He said: "It’s going to be great, but I know what’s to come with that show. I know what it does to you. He’s got some hard work ahead, that’s for sure. I’ve told him it’s a lot of hours – more than people realise. It’s tiring.
"They film you for eight hours until you’ve had enough and then you say something bad – and that’s what they use when it goes out.
"You’re definitely going to see him turning the air blue, so tune in. He’ll be disappointed if they don’t let him."
And Howard previously revealed he will be tuning in as he is excited to watch Robbie and Ayda arguing on the show.
He said: "I think they’ll be at each other’s throats. That’s why they’ve asked them to do it as a pair."
