Sylvester Stallone is to star in ‘Escape Plan 2’.
The 70-year-old actor will reprise his role of Ray Breslin in the follow-up to the 2013 film, which will once again be penned by Miles Chaplin.
Original producers Randall Emmett, George Furla, Mark Canton, and Zack Schiller have also signed up and pre-production will commence in January. Shooting is due to start on March 15th in Ohio and China.
‘Escape Plan’ starred Stallone as Ray, one of the world’s leading authorities on structural security and breaking out of jail. He agrees to try his hand at escaping a top-secret facility called The Tomb.
However, he discovers that it is all an elaborate plot to wrongly imprison him in a virtually inescapable prison, so he then teams with an inmate (Arnold Schwarzenegger) to break out.
Although the plot is unknown, it is thought Stallone will take on a supporting role this time.
While Stallone will be working on this project, it was recently revealed a ‘Rambo’ reboot is in the works without Sylvester Stallone.
The ‘Rocky’ actor played the iconic John Rambo in the franchise’s four movies, but will not reprise his role for the upcoming reboot ‘Rambo: New Blood’.
