Susie Amy "adores" working with Gary Lucy in ‘Hollyoaks’.
The 36-year-old actress worked alongside the handsome star in ‘Footballers’ Wives’ – in which they played husband and wife Kyle Pascoe and Chardonnay Lane-Pascoe – from 2002 until 2003, and are set to reunite on screen next week when the brunette beauty’s alter-ego Scarlett Morgan turns up in Chester to wreak havoc for Gary’s Luke Morgan.
Speaking to Daily Mirror newspaper, Susie said: "I adore him – we’ve got amazing memories of working together in the past – and it’s such a joy to get to work together again, with a totally different character dynamic this time. He hasn’t changed a bit!"
Luke has spent the past few weeks trying to track down his secret wife Scarlett so that he can get divorced and marry his long-term love Mandy Richardson (Sarah Jayne Dunn).
But, in a bid to keep his second life from his partner, Luke and his friend Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) have gone to extreme lengths to delay the wedding.
However, Luke’s worst nightmare comes true when Scarlett – who left him with their son – turns up in the village and is heartbroken to find out he’s planning to remarry.
Susie explained: "I feel delighted. It’s been so much fun. The storylines are brilliant, and I feel very lucky to be involved. Scarlett is a complex character. She has a heart, but she has developed a hardness to her. She loves her son Oliver more than anything, but there is an element of needing to control any situation with him.
"Seeing Luke for the first time in years is bizarre and stirs up all sorts of emotions for Scarlett. He meant so much and he is the father of her much loved son.But she’s angry, so seeing him happy and about to get married is painful – even if she did choose to leave."
