Susanna Reid insists she and Steve Parish are still "very good friends", despite ending their relationship.
The 48-year-old presenter has split from the Crystal Palace chairman after almost six months of dating but the pair still attended his team’s match against Everton at the weekend and the ‘Good Morning Britain’ host insisted there is no hard feelings between them.
Her ‘GMB’ co-host Piers Morgan asked her on the show: "Are you single again? You are aren’t you?"
Susanna replied: "Yep. Let’s not dwell. I’m fine, we’re fine, we’re very good friends. We were at the match on Saturday."
And the brunette beauty went on to reassure her friend not to be too "devastated" about her break-up.
She quipped: "I know one of the things you’re most devastated with my split, is the fact you will no longer have access to the wine cellar."
She presented Piers with three bottles of Crystal Palace wine to " commemorate the epic occasion of Palace beating Arsenal".
And Piers – whose team Arsenal lost to Leicester City on Sunday (28.04.19) – said: "Steve let’s make this clear, you’ve broken up with Susanna and not me. Your wine cellar remains a very important part of my life."
The broadcaster admitted he thought it was "nice" the former couple had agreed to stay friends.
He said: "I think it’s nice that you guys went to the football… these things happen right."
Susanna agreed: "They do. And we remain friends."
It was previously claimed the couple had split because both Steve and Susanna – who has three children with former partner Dominic Cotton – were too busy for a relationship.
A source told the Daily Mail newspaper: "It’s very sad, but they just couldn’t make it work.
"They both work extremely hard and there wasn’t enough time for romance.
"They met through their mutual support for Palace and will stay good friends. They watched the match together on Saturday even though the romance was over."
