Susan Calman has had "I love Grimbsy" tattooed on her foot as part of a promise she made on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 43-year-old comedian and radio presenter vowed to get the words permanently inked on her skin in honour of her ‘Strictly’ dancing partner Kevin Clifton’s hometown, if the pair reached the programme’s Blackpool week, and she has now gone through with the pledge.
She wrote on Twitter: "On Strictly, I promised the audience I’d get a specific tattoo if me and @keviclifton got to Blackpool … 1. I always keep my promises … 2. I added a sun for Bring Me Sunshine … 3. It’s full of joy and a reminder of what I can achieve if I dance outside my comfort zone. I love it! (sic)"
Susan previously revealed how she is planning to take dance classes with her wife Lee Cormack following her stint on the Latin and ballroom show.
She said: "I’m doing the tour, which will be wonderful. I don’t know beyond then – I can only dance when Kevin’s teaching me, he’s a magician. But Lee’s asked if we can do dancing classes together, so we’ll be doing that.
"The thing is, I’m exhausted – sometimes I’ve been in bed by half seven. But I’ve invited them to stay with us between Christmas and New Year. And I’m going to Grimsby with Kevin to dance at his parents’ dance academy’s Christmas do."
Susan found the biggest "shock" in competing on the show was having to change in front of other people, but she’s more than grown used to it now.
She laughed: "At the beginning, it was a shock. I’ve always avoided communal dressing rooms.
"But now I strip off at a moment’s notice if someone tells me to."
