Strictly Come Dancing will remember Caroline Flack in Best Of special

‘Strictly Come Dancing’ will reportedly pay tribute to Caroline Flack during an emotional one-off special.

The late TV star – who tragically took her own life aged 40 on February 14 earlier this year – won the 2014 series of the BBC’s Latin and ballroom show alongside pro Pasha Kovalev in 2014.

As reported by The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column, Caroline’s triumphant run will be a big part of upcoming programme ‘Strictly: The Best of the Final’.

An insider said: "Caroline was loved by all on ‘Strictly’ and was a hugely popular winner among the executives and the crew.

"She was a bundle of energy and they thought if they were going to look at some of the best finals ever it would be fitting to feature her in a big way.

"She’s sorely missed by many, but particularly by her ‘Strictly’ family."

The special show – which will feature Pasha and Janette Manrara paying tribute to the ‘Love Island’ host – is one of four commissions as the Beeb looks to fill the gap left by having a shorter run of the show due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Following Caroline’s sad death, ‘Strictly’ bosses remembered the presenter and hailed her as "simply one of a kind".

A statement posted on their official Twitter account at the time said: "The entire ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ family are heartbroken to hear this incredibly sad news.

"Caroline had an infectious energy and passion for dance, she shone brightly in the ‘Strictly’ ballroom every week and became an incredible champion.

"Words cannot express our sadness, she was simply one of a kind. We are sending our love to all her family and friends during this difficult time."
