Stormzy would love to appear on ‘Come Dine With Me’ – even though he’s a "rubbish chef".
The grime star is keen to be a contestant on the Channel 4 show – on which four people each host a dinner party and then score each other’s nights based on food and entertainment – but believes he wouldn’t be able to rustle up the best dishes himself.
Speaking to ‘Capital Breakfast’, he said: "Oh, do you know what I would do? ‘Come Dine with Me’… Aw yeah, I love ‘Come Dine with Me’.
"[But I’m] not a good chef at all, I’m a rubbish chef but I’m just really, like when I watch it – do you know what, I can’t lie – I’m a proper fan, like, I love my food.
"So I’ll watch ‘Come Dine with Me’ and just proper think ‘ah, I’d just love to, like, be there eating the food’. I never think about the actual cooking."
With his lack of culinary skills, Stormzy acknowledged that he would most likely lose the contest, but he wouldn’t mind as long as he enjoyed the offerings from the other contestants.
He added: "Yeah I wouldn’t mind losing … I’d just do the free other meals and then when people come to me it’s like, ‘Guys, listen, I can’t lie, I’m just here for the meals you lot did. It’s just order some flippin’ Deliveroo or something.’ "
Stormzy has already started to explore other projects aside from his music career, and last month it was revealed he has been cast in the upcoming BBC adaptation of Malorie Blackman’s novel series ‘Noughts + Crosses’.
He said at the time: "As a die-hard fan of Malorie’s novels, being a part of this important show is a dream come true."
