Stone Temple Pilots remember Scott Weiland

Stone Temple Pilots are reminded of late frontman Scott Weiland "daily".
The heavy rock band’s original singer – who performed lead vocals on-and-off from 1989 until 2013 – tragically passed away at the age of 48 last December from an accidental overdose and the remaining members, brothers Dean and Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz, say he’s constantly in their minds as they "miss" him dearly.
Speaking of their beloved band mate, in a statement posted on their website, they said: "Here we are. A year has passed since you’ve been gone. We often think of you and are reminded of you daily with many memories. Then there is the music the four of us carved out allowing us to listen and feel how brilliant you are. There was a time when we looked up to one another. Each of us wanting one another’s approval. The songs we wrote had to have complete impact on us in order for them to shine. When it did … it was unearthly. Perhaps you are in a place now to better describe it. We miss you Scott."
The ‘Vasoline’ hitmakers had been touring with Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington on lead vocals, but he left to focus on his band’s new album in January.
Since February, the ‘Plush’ rockers held public auditions to find a replacement for Weiland, and while they concluded the search, they are yet to announce the new singer.
Of their search, guitarist Dean DeLeo previously said: "You know, I promise you one thing: we’re not gonna settle," he said. "This person has to be really, really great. You know, we had the fortune of being in a band with one of the greats — twice! You know, Chester included. So we’re not gonna settle."
