Stephen Fry wasted time and money on drugs

Stephen Fry wasted an "enormous" amount of time and money on cocaine.

The ‘QI’ host has opened up further about his struggle with drug addiction, depression and his bipolar disorder in latest autobiography ‘More Fool Me’, claiming he wasted far too much time and money on drugs in the past.

In an extract from the book, printed in the Daily Mirror newspaper, he said: "I have been utterly candid about a period of my life in which I spent an enormous amount of time and money on cocaine powder.

"I know how stupid that is, but I know better people than me have found themselves on the same path."

Meanwhile, the 57-year-old comedian – who admitted last year that he’d attempted suicide in 2012 – hinted last week that he had recorded a cameo in US comedy animation ‘American Dad!’ before jokingly adding that he wouldn’t be completely satisfied in his career until he appeared on long-running medical drama ‘Casualty’.

He wrote on Twitter: "That was fun – just played an @AmericanDadFOX character. My life is complete. Oh wait, I haven’t been on @BBCCasualty yet."
