Stephen Belafonte responds to Mel B’s alleged sexual harrassment allegations

Stephen Belafonte reportedly "vehemently denies" the allegations made against him by his estranged wife Mel B.
The 41-year-old singer filed for a divorce from her spouse after 10 years of marriage last month and has since requested for a restraining order against the 41-year-old film producer, however her ex-beau is eager to respond to the "outrageous and unfounded allegations" made against him, which profess he has been abusive to the Spice Girls band member throughout their relationship, because he claims they are untrue.
A statement released by Stephen’s lawyers, which has been obtained by E! News, reads: "It’s a shame that Ms. Brown elected not to proceed in a respectful and amicable fashion in this very private matter. In due course, Mr. Belafonte will be filing his response to the outrageous and unfounded allegations made by Ms. Brown, which allegations he vehemently denies."
And Stephen believes the action taken against him is a "charade" and was plotted to "cover up" the ‘Wannabe’ hitmaker’s actions during their romance.
The statement continues: "When the Court determines the truth, it will become clear that this entire charade was nothing more than a smear campaign intended to cover up Ms. Brown’s own conduct during the marriage in light of her current involvement with a family television show, and in an effort to unfairly gain leverage both financially and with respect to custody of the children.
"When the degree to which Ms. Brown has gone to create a false depiction of her marriage to Mr. Belafonte is uncovered, real victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse will be understandably offended, angry and upset. Mr. Belafonte is confident that the truth will come out when he has his day in court at which time he looks forward to being reunited with his children."
Although Stephen believes the court case is part of a plan for Mel to gain "leverage" financially and with their children, he is determined to ensure the "safety and well-being" of the entire brood, including his five-year-old daughter Madison – who has with the powerhouse – as well as his daughter Giselle, his step-daughters Angel, 10, and Phoenix, 18.
The official document continued: "What matters most to Mr. Belafonte is the safety and well-being of his daughters and step-daughters.
"In the meantime, Mr. Belafonte requests that he and his children be given the space they deserve during this challenging time."
