Stephanie Davis and Jeremy McConnell are both attending counselling to tackle their "insecurities".
The reality TV stars, who met on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ earlier this year, have been involved in a dramatically turbulent love affair in recent weeks and have now turned to professional advice in a bid to rescue their burgeoning romance.
Asked how they plan to progress their relationship, Stephanie said: "I’m going to continue getting counselling for my own insecurities and Jeremy is going to start to see someone, too. He understands now that he needs professional help to get his emotions under control."
And Jeremy – who romped with two women behind the actress’ back last month – believes he will benefit from discussing his feelings of inadequacy with an expert.
He told OK! magazine: "I do need some help. I slept with other girls because of my own insecurities, but I’m getting therapy now.
"It will also help me to deal with my fear of people leaving me. I don’t want those thoughts to ruin things with Steph. We have been talking about having some couples’ therapy together, too."
Despite the on/off nature of their relationship, the 22-year-old beauty, who dumped the hunk last week before forgiving him a few days later, insisted she is committed to Jeremy for the long term.
She added: "I’ve told Jeremy he needs to stop thinking I’ll leave him, he’s stuck with me! Hopefully getting some counselling will help."
