Stefan Dennis would love to appear in ‘EastEnders’.
The ‘Neighbours’ actor – who has played Paul Robinson on the Australian soap on and off from 1985 – would be up for swapping Ramsay Street for Albert Square one day, and he has set his sights on a "gritty" role.
He told MailOnline: "I would love to appear in EastEnders. Something gritty."
Making the transition from Erinsborough to Walford could be seamless for Stefan as the two soaps previously shared a lovely moment on social media, after the Australian show referenced the BBC soap’s 35th birthday in a February episode.
The Aussie programme made a nod to the London-based soap on its 35th birthday by featuring a sign outside bar The Waterhole which made a nod to EastEnders’ fictional location, Walford, as well as legendary families, the Mitchells, the Fowlers, and the Slaters, by naming cocktails after them.
The sign read: "Walford Sour, Fowler Fizz, Slater Colada, Dry Mitchell"
There was also a sign advertising a "Happy Half Hour" from 7.30pm to 8pm, the time ‘EastEnders airs.
Should Stefan appear in ‘EastEnders’ one day he will not be the first actor to star in both ‘Neighbours’ and the British soap.
Denise van Outen appeared as Prue Wallace in ‘Neighbours’ from September last year to March this year when the character was caught in the crossfire of Finn Kelly’s (Rob Mills) revenge plot against Lucy Robinson (Melissa Bell).
The actress also starred as Karin Smart in ‘EastEnders’ for a brief stint in April 2015.
