Stargazing Live axed?

‘Stargazing Live’ has been axed.
The astronomy show – which launched in 2011 and starred Brian Cox and comedian Dara O Briain – is now set to make its way Down Under after getting the chop by BBC bosses.
Speaking to Radio 6 from Sydney, Brian said: "I am here to do ‘Stargazing Live Australia’, which isn’t a great deal of use to listeners in the UK because the BBC has decided that you don’t want to watch ‘Stargazing’ this year and I profoundly disagree with that decision."
The 50-year-old professor remained hopeful about the show’s new direction, revealing his intentions for setting a new world record.
He explained: "We are going to do it in Australia instead and it’s going to be great. We are going for the world record for people looking up at the night sky at once.
"We are going to get tens of thousands of people at the same time.
"We are also going to look for new supernova explosions in the universe."
However, a spokeswoman for the BBC has insisted that Brian is still working with the corporation, and teased a new series featuring the physics expert as well as the potential return of ‘Stargazing Live’.
She told The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: "Brian Cox is making a major new science series for BBC Two that we are very excited about, details of which will be announced soon."
On whether ‘Stargazing Live’ could make a possible comeback, she revealed: "We are in discussions with the production team about future series of ‘Stargazing Live’."
