Sophie Turner says fame has forced her to "grow up faster".
The ‘Game of Thrones’ star rose to international fame for her role as Sansa Stark in the HBO series and admits she "clings onto her childhood".
She said: "I definitely felt I had to grow up faster than I would have done. I’m very driven in terms of work, but I’m almost more playful and silly than my friends. I cling onto childhood.
"Having a cynical perspective is best; in this industry, there’s just a lot of rejection. We all have that mentality, where we know we’re expendable. We all just thought, this is a job. Try not to get fired."
And the 20-year-old actress also admitted she feels "almost embarrassed" about being famous as she feels people "look down" on her because she’s known all over the world.
She added: "I feel almost embarrassed by being in the public eye sometimes. I almost get the feeling that people look down on me because of it. If you’re on a night out, they will definitely tease you for it."
But thankfully for Sophie, she had her co-star Lena Headey, 42, to rely on when she needed support.
She told InStyle magazine: "Lena felt like a bit of a mum to me. She’s kind of the coolest person I’ve ever met. Tatted up, pixie hair – the epitome of cool."
Meanwhile, Sophie previously admitted she couldn’t imagine herself dating someone that wasn’t in the showbiz industry.
She shared: "The only relationship I have had was with someone who was in the industry, and I think if I dated someone who wasn’t, the difference would inhibit the relationship, just because you’re constantly travelling.
"You never really know if people like you for you. Someone who has been in that situation themselves understands. I suppose you find a way to work things out."
