Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams have had matching tattoos.
The ‘Game of Thrones’ stars have had the date ‘07.08.09’ – when they learned they had been cast as Sansa and Arya Stark respectively – permanently etched onto their skin as a sign of their friendship and a reminder of their time on the show.
Sophie said: "She’s one of my best friends in the whole world. We got matching tattoos.
"That’s the date that we both heard that we got ‘Game of Thrones’ on…I got it the other day. [It’s] still a bit crusty."
The two actresses initially intended to get the inkings when the fantasy drama comes to an end, but with the high death toll on the HBO saga, they decided it was best to take the plunge now as they have no idea what’s in store for their characters.
Speaking on the red carpet at the Emmy Awards on Sunday (18.09.16), Sophie told E! News: "We always kind of said we want matching [tattoos].
"The date was always really significant…and then with ‘Thrones’ we were always planning from season one, like if we make it all the way through, hopefully we could all get a matching thing.
"We don’t know if we’re going to make it so Maisie and I were like, ‘Let’s get these ones before anyone kills us!’ "
And the 20-year-old star admitted she had had the inking done in peach to make it less visible because her mother doesn’t approve of the body art.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: "I got it in peach because my mom wanted it to be as invisible as possible, but now I’m showing it to everyone. She’s going to be so annoyed."
