Sophie Simnett says it’s an honour starring in The Lodge

Sophie Simnett says appearing on Disney Channel show ‘The Lodge’ is an "honour" and is adamant there is no pressure on the cast.
Disney is renowned for creating successful celebrities who all began their careers starring in the company’s TV shows, such as Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato.
Sophie plays main character Skye in the British musical drama and she hopes that she will go on to have a career as successful as some of those names.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, the 18-year-old actress said: "I don’t think there is a pressure. You have got this platform and you chose to do what you want with it. Look at Justin Timberlake and Cole Sprouse – who is in the show ‘Riverdale’ now – you use what you make of it whether you’re a singer, actor or performer. You learn so much from working with Disney. I don’t think there’s much pressure at all. I think it’s more of an honour."
The newest cast member of the show Mia Jenkins, who is also one of the youngest, said there is a lot of support for them.
She said: "It’s amazing to be part of such a supportive group. I am one of the youngest cast members and it’s such a supportive environment."
Co-star Bethan Wright, 21, who plays Danielle, also reiterated Mia’s comments and said: "No matter what happens we are there. We are so close to each other."
Thomas Doherty, 22, who stars as Sean in ‘The Lodge’ and will next be seen in ‘The Descendants 2’, believes being part of a company like Disney opens doors for other opportunities.
He said: "It’s wonderful working for Disney. The opportunities are plentiful and if you’re willing to put the work to it you can do it.
"You have the choices and you have to make the right ones."
The Lodge Season 2 airs Fridays 5.30pm on Disney Channel and DisneyLife.
