Sophie Ellis-Bextor is set to release her new album this year.
The 37-year-old singer songwriter has announced she will launch her sixth studio album on September 2 this year via her record label Ellis Bextor Great Britain (EBGB) – which Sophie founded in 2009 – and Red/Essential, one week after her latest single ‘Come With Us’ hits radio stations on August 26, although it has been available to download since Tuesday (19.07.16).
Speaking about her recent release, the brunette beauty said: "My new album ‘Familia’ is the bolshier, more extrovert little sister to ‘Wanderlust’. It sees the ‘Wanderlust’ girl move away from Eastern Europe to the warmer, sunnier climate of South America where she’s swapped vodka for tequila."
The album features a romantic theme and will feature tracks including ‘Wild Forever’, ‘Here Comes the Rapture’, ‘Death of Love’ and ‘Unrequited’.
Meanwhile, the mother of four – who has sons Sonny, Kit, Ray and Jesse with her husband Richard Jones – admitted she enjoyed co-writing and producing the track alongside Ed Harcourt, which was recorded in London in the company of a group of musician friends, because ‘Come with Us’ is similar to the original disco sound featured on her 2002 hit ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’.
Speaking about her partnership with the ‘Back Into the Woods’ hitmaker and her latest pop single, she said: "[This is] what happens when Ed Harcourt and I write Four on the floor. It is a live disco song about the lure of a cult."
And the musician will launch ‘Familia’ with a one-off intimate show on September 7, which will be held at the Bush Hall in London, England. Tickets for the gig will be available to buy online this Friday (22.07.16) on www.livenation.co.uk .
