Sonia wants a role on ‘Coronation Street’.
The 1980s pop icon previously studied acting and she’d love to land a "nasty" part on her favourite soap.
She said: "I’d love a part in ‘Corrie’. I studied acting and I’d love to really get my teeth into something like playing a nasty person or a character that people really don’t see me as being.
"That would be brilliant."
The ‘You’ll Never Stop Me From Loving You’ hitmaker could pick up some tips from former ‘Corrie’ star Sherrie Hewson, as they struck up a strong friendship when they recently filmed reality show ‘Celebrity 5 Go Caravanning’ alongside Tony Blackburn, Colin Baker and former ‘EastEnders’ actor Todd Carty.
She said: "We had such fun, but when we initially saw the caravan we were like, ‘Oh my word’, because it was so small that we couldn’t actually open our suitcases.
"The boys were even more cramped, with the three of them."
"We ended up having the best laugh. The whole trip was just so funny and Sherrie and I only had to look at one another and we’d send each other off.
"We got on so well and we all really bonded."
While she wants to move into acting, the 47-year-old singer already has a very busy schedule with her music career.
She added to Closer magazine: "I’ve never stopped gigging. I gig all over the world; last year I was out in South Africa, the year before I was in Brazil doing concerts.
"Every single weekend I do shows or festivals and every Friday after school I’m in the car on the way to somewhere with my little girl, Gracie, and my husband Mark, who is my tour manager."
