Snow throws Emmerdale filming into chaos

‘Emmerdale’ bosses have been forced to make last-minute changes to the script after the set was hit by a snow blizzard.
Filming for the long-running soap, which is shot in Leeds, has been thrown into chaos this week after temperatures plummeted and the village was covered with a blanket of white flakes.
Steve Halliwell – who plays Zak Dingle in the ITV show – told the Radio Times Online: "There was meant to be snow starting in the end scene in a depressing way, but we’ve just shot the first scene of the Christmas episode and it’s already covered in snow. We’ve had to adapt it so that there was already snow. We had bought a lot of artificial snow to use this afternoon!"
However, the flurry of winter weather also wreaked havoc for the cast, as Gemma Atkinson – who plays Carly Hope – struggled to get to Yorkshire from Manchester due to the bad conditions.
Taking to her Instagram account earlier this week, the 31-year-old beauty uploaded a photograph of the picturesque set.
She wrote: "@emmerdale Village looking lovely today. A nightmare to get to from Manchester this morning mind you scenery looks like a Christmas card cover (sic)."
Despite the disruption, bosses have assured fans filming for the show will still go ahead – even if they have to rejig episodes.
Christmas in the Dales is expected to be as explosive as ever and bosses have teased the Dingles will be centre of the action.
A source said recently: "It’s fair to say that it won’t be a happy Christmas for a lot of the villagers."
