Sir Tom Jones: The Voice will make contestants stars on ITV

Sir Tom Jones thinks ‘The Voice’ has a "better chance" of turning contestants into stars now it is on ITV.
The talent show moved from BBC to ITV for its most recent series and the 76-year-old coach believes it could help make the acts more successful.
He said: "Things have changed because the record company people now are more hands-on.
"On the BBC, they were limited because [the label] couldn’t come into the studio a lot of the time. We have a better chance."
However, the ‘It’s Not Unusual’ hitmaker insists it is not easy to make it in the industry.
He explained: "When you land a contract, you’re getting your foot in the door. You still have to get a hit record, and there is no guarantee of that ever – it’s not easy, it never has been and it never will be."
And whilst Tom insists there is no "competition" between him and his fellow coaches, he still believes he has the strongest team on the show.
Speaking about his fellow coaches Jennifer Hudson, will.i.am and Gavin Rossdale, he told the Metro newspaper: "We’re friends so, no, we’re not competing with each other. But I feel I’ve got the strongest team, so hey…"
Meanwhile, Tom previously admitted he thinks his late wife Melinda Trenchard would have been "really happy" to find out he was back on the show.
He explained: "Oh yeah, she would have been really happy because she enjoyed it. As you know, the contract was like once a year and then we go the phone call ‘We are not renewing your contract’ a couple of days before and I was like ‘Why didn’t you give me more notice, what was that about?’ My wife, god bless her, she said, ‘You don’t want to do ‘The Voice’ then do you?’ and I said ‘Well, it’s not my choice.’ ‘Really?’ [she said] So she couldn’t understand and then she passed away before I came back."
