Sir Tom Jones hints at The Voice return

Sir Tom Jones has dropped a strong hint he will return to ‘The Voice’ next year.
The 78-year-old singer hinted that once he has completed his self-titled tour, which kicks off in America at the end of April, he will reappear as a coach on the popular singing contest.
Speaking on Monday’s episode of ‘This Morning’ (01.04.19) alongside his two acts Bethzienna Williams and Deana – who will appear in Saturday’s (06.04.19) much-anticipated final – he said: "[In] less than two weeks, by the time we’ve finished ‘The Voice’, I’m going to do a bunch of shows in America and then come back and do a European tour after that towards the summer and then back on ‘The Voice’ again, I think."
Tom explained that he loves appearing on the singing show because it doesn’t feel like work, but the ‘Delilah’ hitmaker finds it hard to not "leave things until the last minute" because it’s become such a "habit".
He said: "No [it’s not work]. It’s the truth, you’ve just got to be there on time, that’s the only thing that is regimental about show business.
"You think ‘OK, what time is it?’ The light goes on and you’ve got to appear on television and deliver.
"I’m always leaving things to the last minute, it’s a habit. It’s a great life and somebody said, ‘Is it hard work’ and I said, ‘Look I haven’t worked since 1962,’ really doing a job of work that you don’t like in order to make money, which most people have to do, singing to me is like breathing, you’ve just got to look after it."
The ‘Sex Bomb’ hitmaker also insisted that he "could hardly speak" when Deana performed a stunning rendition of Eva Cassidy’s ‘Autumn Leaves’ on last weekend’s semi-final because the tune reminds him of his former wife Melinda Trenchard who tragically died in 2016.
He said: "The song means a lot to me, I’ve always liked it. I recorded my first album when I was 24 so I’ve always loved the song, when you’ve lived a while songs seem to mean more because you’ve lived.
"And that song always reminds me, because my wife passed away, and I was thinking all those things in my mind. And she nailed it! I thought I’ve got so much to say and she got to me and I just listened to it and I could hardly speak!"
