Sir Tom Jones is reportedly determined to fulfil his UK tour commitments despite the recent death of his wife Linda.
The 75-year-old singer lost his wife of nearly 60 years died after a "short but fierce" battle with cancer on April 10, but has reportedly pledged to appear at London’s Hampton Court Palace Festival on June 8, the day after his 76th birthday.
An insider told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "Tom is a consummate professional. It will be emotional. Many of his songs remind him of their love.
"He’s felt the strain of Linda’s loss immensely but he’s committed to his fans.
"He will want to fulfil his dates throughout summer. He will then have time to reflect."
Sir Tom has already cancelled tour dates in Asia and is said to still be reeling from the loss of his wife, who he met at the age of 12 and went on to marry when they were both 16.
Last month, Sir Tom thanked his legion of fans for their support in the wake of his wife’s death.
The ‘It’s Not Unusual’ hitmaker – whose birth name is Thomas John Woodward – wrote on his official website: "A heartfelt Thank You to all who sent notes of their sympathy and support to me and my family over the last couple of weeks.
"So many beautiful and meaningful things were said, and reading these genuine and lovely messages has lifted us all. See you soon.(sic)"
Meanwhile, the Welsh star – who had numerous extra-marital affairs with famous women and groupies – also previously described his wife Linda as the "love of my life".
He added: "She loves being married to me and I love being married to her whatever happened."
