Sir Paul McCartney to join The Voice?

Sir Paul McCartney is being lined-up for ‘The Voice’.
The Beatles legend is reportedly on the show’s hit list to claim one of the red spinning chairs when the programme shifts from BBC to rival channel ITV later this year as bosses are desperate to make the next series the best one yet.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "ITV are determined to make the show a real success when it changes channel so they are really going for it. Sir Paul McCartney is undoubtedly one of the greatest musicians to have ever lived so to get him signed up would be a real coup."
Producers are convinced securing the 73-year-old rocker will set the show apart from its competitors like ‘The X Factor’.
The insider added: "It [singing Paul] would blow the judges from the BBC series out of the water and would set ‘The Voice’ apart as the top music contest in the world – well above ‘The X Factor’ or equivalents in the US."
However, although ITV are willing to fork out mega money to nab Paul for the judging panel, it’s believed he’ll probably turn them down in order to focus on his solo career.
The source explained: "While the ITV offer has been generous, Paul really doesn’t need the money and wants to focus on his own music. His ‘One on One’ world tour does not end until October, when filming for the show is likely to begin. It’s all still up in the air but ‘The Voice’ really is trying to pull out all of the stops this time."
But, despite their keenness to snap up Paul for the panel, it’s thought bosses have a long list of stars they could sign.
Earlier this week, it was reported ‘American Idol’ star Jennifer Hudson and Kylie Minogue were in discussions to join the show when it returns to screens early next year.
And producers are also chatting to will.i.am – who has featured on the panel since the show began five years ago – in a bid to persuade him to stay when it moves channels.
