Simon Rimmer injures quad ahead of Strictly Come Dancing

Simon Rimmer hasn’t started learning his dance for the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Halloween special this weekend.
The 54-year-old celebrity chef only has two days to perfect his Viennese Waltz to Tom Jones’ ‘Delilah’ with his professional dance partner Karen Clifton after he was banned from putting any weight on his thigh because he’d injured his quad following his dramatic fall in the dance-off against Brian Conley last weekend.
Speaking on the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ spin-off ‘It Takes Two’, Simon said: "I’ve got a bit of pain in my quad, so my lovely physio Doug has strapped me up to keep the muscle in place and hopefully it’ll sort itself out."
Karen, 35, added: "It is really tough because these guys have never danced before and it’s pretty intense on your muscles, so if something like that happens it’s really hard to recover from it. But hopefully you’ll be OK."
Asked whether he’s started training for this weekend’s performance, Simon replied: "No, this has got to calm down a little bit really, that’s the only thing. This has got to be eased off a little bit."
And, although Karen is slightly concerned that they won’t be ready in time, the brunette beauty is confident that Simon will work really hard over the next two days to ensure he performs to the best of his ability.
She said: "[it does worry me] a little bit, yeah. That leaves us two days to get everything together. But, you know, he’s a hard worker and he’s very focused, so I’m OK … for now!"
The ‘Sunday Brunch’ presenter worried fans yesterday (24.10.17) when he took to his Instagram account to tell his followers that he was about to undergo a treatment to heal his quad as quickly as possible.
Alongside a photograph of him walking into a freezer, he said: "Today Doug Jones at Althius physio will do more cryochamber therapy on my damaged quad. COOOOOOLD X (sic)"
