Simon Cowell hopes his young son Eric will be in a boyband when he’s older.
The ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ boss was speaking to a group of young lads aged nine to 11 who auditioned for the ITV talent show when he made the comments about his four-year-old boy’s future.
Speaking to the group, Simon – who has Eric with partner Lauren Silverman – told them: "I just know my son Eric and his four mates are going to be doing that in a few years."
Whilst a member of the audience told The Sun newspaper: "Simon seemed to quite like the thought he might be up on stage one day."
It comes after the 58-year-old music mogul said he’d like to see his son follow in his footsteps, and take over from him on the various talent shows he runs.
He said previously: "He’ll probably end up doing what I am doing.
"He has to take over for me. I’ve put him in training. He’s down at the shows, he has the earplugs in. I would absolutely love it if he could do what I do."
However, the ‘X Factor’ judge says he won’t mind if Eric decides he wants to go down a more academic route, though he admits it would be nice for him to leave behind a "legacy".
He added: "If he gravitates towards academics, then fine – I would encourage him but I have a feeling he’s gonna be more like me.
"I’m not gonna lie, I’d love him to one day say, ‘Can I work for you and learn how to do it.’
"That would make me feel incredible — and then you have a legacy."
