Simon Cowell thinks his son would make an excellent ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge.
The 57-year-old entertainment mogul has three-year-old son Eric with his partner Laura Silverman, and has said the toddler is already starting to act like his father, and Simon even uses Eric’s reaction to an act to help him decide whether or not to send them through.
He said: "He definitely gets what is a good song. He remembers the words and he knows who the artists are. His taste in music for his age is quite incredible. When I watch the audition clips back afterwards, I watch him. If he’s interested in the clip, they’re usually very good. When he looks away, they’re not. He gets it and he loves coming to the show.
"The first time he came down, he was nervous because he saw an ‘X’ as being a kiss. That’s what his mum [Lauren] had taught him. So he used to call our judges’ buzzers The Scary Kisses.
"Then he worked out they weren’t kisses and, when he was about two, I asked him what I did for a job. He said ‘You press buzzers.’ I said ‘Yes but there’s a little bit more to it than that.’ And now he’s starting to get it."
And Simon admits it would be his "dream" for Eric to one day take over his empire, which includes heading the ITV talent competition as well as ‘The X Factor’ and his entertainment company Syco Entertainment.
He added: "I think and I hope he’ll end up doing my job one day. That would be my dream."
His dream might become a reality sooner than he thinks, as fellow ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge Amanda Holden says Eric is already a "mini Simon".
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Amanda said: "He’s a gorgeous boy. He is like a mini Simon. One day at ‘BGT’, Simon was running late and Eric was walking in front of us and he said: ‘Let’s do this, guys,’ wearing his little leather jacket and his white shirt with three buttons undone, just like his father."
‘Britain’s Got Talent’ starts Saturday (15.04.17) at 8pm on ITV.
