Simon Cowell looks to RuPaul for X Factor help

Simon Cowell has called for drag queens to appear on ‘The X Factor: Celebrity.’
The 60-year-old music mogul has been inspired by ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ – which searches for the next drag superstar – as he looks to improve the star-studded talent show.
A TV insider told the Daily Star newspaper: "’Drag Race’ is young, current and fun. ‘X Factor: Celebrity,’ which averages ratings of 5.7 million, preforms well with a young audience. Drag queens fit in well with that bracket."
His advert states: "Serve up fierce, fabulous and class … and be on TV."
‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ became a hit in the US back in 2009 with 11 seasons and an ‘All Star’ spin-off.
And now RuPaul, 59, and his trusty friend Michelle Visage, 51, have travelled across the pond with a UK version that launched this year, with the final set to air tonight (21.11.19).
And Simon is said to be determined to increase the ‘X Factor: Celebrity’ ratings by inviting drag queens onto the show.
This comes after Kevin McHale praised Vinnie Jones as a "national treasure" for offering to step aside to let him advance in the ITV show over the weekend, even if Simon stopped it from happening.
He said: "He said he felt like he’d completed the journey. We were both at peace with where we ended up.
"It wasn’t overly emotional. We were both like, ‘We did a great job.’ "
Vinnie told the judges – Simon, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh – that the show "was everything he needed since his wife died".
He added: "Simon, I feel that I’ve had a fantastic time. I’ve really enjoyed it. It’s been everything I needed since my wife’s passing. This guy is a real singer. I think he can win it. For his career, I’d like to step down."
However, Simon "insisted" he would like Vinnie to stay and would "like to make the final decision, regardless".
