Simon Cowell is "up for" working with Robbie Williams.
The 58-year-old music mogul has sparked speculation the ‘Let Me Entertain You’ hitmaker could join ‘The X Factor’ after admitting he would love to join forces with the singer, and believes they would have been "really good friends" if they had worked together in the past.
When asked if the pair could team up, he said: "Robert and myself had a chance to work together many years ago but I was dumped.
"We would have been really good friends. I’m up for it."
Robbie added: "It wasn’t me who dumped Simon. I’m in."
Simon is also keen to team up with his four-year-old son, Eric Cowell, on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, and the ‘BGT’ boss insists the youngster has already developed a "great taste" for TV editing.
He said: "I would say 100 per cent but stay my side of the desk. He comes to work a lot, he likes pressing the buzzer.
"I watch the show with him when I edit and the stuff he likes, he’s got great taste, I think he’s going to be good."
Simon lost out to his fellow ‘BGT’ panellist David Walliams in the Best TV Judge category at the National Television Awards, and has joked his pal only won because his mum rang up an "enormous" phone bill.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’, Simon quipped: "It was rigged! He got all of his friends him mum’s telephone bill is enormous, so actually I did win."
On last weekend’s ‘BGT’, Amanda Holden had to teach Simon what a bag for life was after comic singer Micky P Kerr sang his song ‘Bag For Life’.
David previously said: "Whenever we have a comedian on the show, I don’t sit next to Simon but I can see Amanda explaining the jokes to him because he doesn’t live in the real world. There was one comic who sang a song about a bag for life, and of course Simon’s not been in a supermarket since 1982 so he has no idea you’re supposed to have these plastic bags you reuse.
"He’s probably the only person in Britain who doesn’t know what a bag for life is – I bet even the queen knows what a bag for life is!"
