Simon Cowell: It’s ‘harder’ to find talent in the UK now

Simon Cowell says it is "harder" to find talent in the UK now.
The 59-year-old music mogul feels himself and the team at ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ would be doing "above average" if they could find just two good acts this series.
He told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: "Yes, it’s really, really difficult. If we find two great acts per season, I’d say we’re doing above average. I do believe we’ve found some extraordinary talent this year. But we’ll have to see whether the viewers agree."
‘Britain’s Got Talent’ is set to return to screens this week with Simon taking his judging position alongside Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon.
Ant McPartlin – who took a year out to focus on his sobriety after a drink driving conviction – has also made his return to the show alongside his presenting partner Dec Donnelly and Alesha recently revealed "everyone is happy" to have him back.
She said: "We’ve worked together now for, I think, seven years and when we get together it is like a family vibe in the studio and it just feels good and it’s so great, and everyone’s happy and back to our naughty selves … There’s a lot of love and, I think, you ladies know the more you work with people, the more you build up relationships and care about each other as people – you’re not just doing your job, you care about each other’s wellbeing, it’s no different on our show."
Dec had previously admitted in late 2018 that ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ would be "back to normal".
He said: "It’s back to normal for ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ – fingers crossed it will be great."
‘Britain’s Got Talent’ returns to screens on Saturday night (06.04.19).
