Chris Martin wants to move back to England.
The Coldplay frontman relocated to Los Angeles last year with his wife Gwyneth Paltrow and their two children, daughter Apple, nine, and son Moses, seven, so the 41-year-old actress could be near her friends but he's now desperate to return to his native country.
A source told RadarOnline.com: "Chris has told Gwyneth he wants to move back to his native England with their two children, Apple and Moses, once the school year is over.
"He hasn't been happy living in Los Angeles because Chris just isn't into the Hollywood scene."
The 36-year-old singer doesn't believe he and his beau need to stay in the US once their children have finished their academic year at school and he'd rather be closer to his family in the UK.
The source explained: "At first, Chris was doing it for Gwyneth because of the sacrifices she made for him, especially since he would be on the road for months at time while the band was touring. However, Chris now recognises that Gwyneth doesn't need to be living in Los Angeles for her career."
The couple - who married in 2003 - own an apartment in the Belsize Park in North London, but have recently put the property on the market.
It is also believed the pair own a number of homes in the Hamptons, too, but are currently looking for a small flat in Regents' Park, London.

Farrah Abraham is releasing a second sex tape.
The former 'Teen Mom' star has recorded a follow-up porn video to her original hardcore home movie, entitled 'Farrah 2: Backdoor & More'.
The explicit tape sees her reunite with porn star James Deen - who recently starred opposite Lindsay Lohan in 'The Canyons' - and will hit the internet on February 13.
Vivid's CEO Steve Hirsch told Fishwrapper.com: "We have learned there isn't anything shy about Farrah. She repeatedly tells the media she's not a porn star, but she sure acts like one both on and off the screen."
The controversial reality star tried to pass off her original video as a leaked sex tape, but this time around Farrah is unashamedly promoting her X-rated antics.
Lewd scenes are set to feature three different "fantasy fetish swings as foreplay", according to the website.
This comes after the 22-year-old brunette claimed her first foray into the adult entertainment world "ruined" her life.
She said last month: "It made it hard to have friends and a private life and to trust family, who I feel use me for money. If I went back in time, I would not have done it. The sex tape ruined my life."

Robin Wright has no regrets about putting her career on hold to raise a family.
The 'House of Cards' star had no hesitation in putting her acting on hold so she could be at home to care for her now grow-up children, daughter Dylan and son Hopper, while their father Sean Penn pursued his own successful Hollywood career.
Speaking on UK TV show 'Daybreak', she said: "It wasn't a hard decision, I mean the reason I had children was to actually mother them, otherwise who was going to stay with them? That was my thought. I mean one parent is gone, and the other one has to stay there and be with them."
Robin started her relationship with Sean in 1989 and had Robin in April 1991 and Hopper in August 1993, and the couple married in 1996. They encountered marriage difficulties in 2007 before she filed for divorce in August 2009 with their legal separation finalised in July 2010.
Although Dylan - who is a model and is dating 'Vampire Diaries' star Steven R. McQueen - and Hopper are adults, the 47-year-old actress still worries about them and wants to help them as much as she can in their life pursuits.
Robin explained: "[The kids] they're doing great. [Hopper is] 20, and [Dylan is] 22 and you're thinking, 'Come on, you can do it!' You're still being a parent in that sense."
Meanwhile, Robin admits she was in disbelief upon hearing news she had won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Series Drama at the ceremony last month for her performance as Claire Underwood in political drama 'House of Cards'.
Robin was even more shocked she had emerged victorious when she realised her competition were Claire Danes and Kerry Washington.
The 'Forrest Gump' star recalled: "I genuinely believed I heard another name, I had to think twice! It was nice because you feel like it's working because what I get up to do every day for my job is working for other people."

Justin Bieber's uncle claims he wants Selena Gomez back and their split is the reason he's behaving badly.
Brad Bieber thinks his 19-year-old nephew has been getting into trouble with the police because he's still heartbroken over the breakdown of his relationship with the former Disney star.
In recent weeks, Justin has been charged with assaulting a limousine driver in Toronto, Canada, is being investigating over the egging of a neighbour's house in Los Angeles and he was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI), resisting arrest and driving with an invalid licence in Miami.
Brad believes all his famous relative's problems stem from the fact he is pining for 21-year-old Selena, who he has been having an on/off relationship with since February 2011.
Brad - the brother of Justin's father Jeremy Bieber - told the new US issue of Star magazine: "How would you feel if your first love didn't work out? How would you feel if that relationship went sour and then it became public and you had no chance to heal or sort out your own emotions and feelings? He is just a brokenhearted, lost little boy."
Brad is also urging Justin to calm down and take some time to take stock of his life away from the fame game and choose the right path before he ends up in jail.
He added: "It would be nice if people realised he's still just a boy. You have to understand that. He's a teenage boy with immense wealth and with that comes responsibility, which perhaps he hasn't found yet."

Julianne Moore's daughter thinks she looks better air-brushed.
The 53-year-old actress admits Liv, 11, prefers her photographs when they've been professionally touched up as it erases the freckles she has on face and body.
Julianne told the March issue of Redbook magazine: "Sometimes a magazine wants to see my actual skin, and other times they'll airbrush [the freckles] out. I don't care either way.
"[But] once my daughter [Liv] saw me on a cover where I had no freckles and said, 'That doesn't look like you at all!' And then - just like a kid - 'I like you better without them.' Thanks!"
The flame-haired beauty published a children's book in 2007 based on her childhood nickname, Freckleface Strawberry in a bid to tackle the stigma attached to freckles and red hair.
She previously said: "When I read to children's groups, I warm up to them by asking, 'Have you ever seen anybody with as many freckles as I have?' And they all say, 'Nooo!' "
Julianne - who also has 16-year-old son Calab - admitted recently she's learnt to love her freckles as she's grown older and it doesn't let them bother her like they did when she was in her teens.

Bradley Cooper is glad the paparazzi are leaving him and Suki Waterhouse alone.
The 'American Hustle' actor has been romancing the British model since meeting her at a party in London in February 2013 and is relieved people have respected their privacy so far.
He told France's Gala magazine: "I don't know why, but up until now the paparazzi have mostly left us alone. We've not been hounded like wild animals. I appreciate that. I hope it lasts!"
The 39-year-old actor is extremely close to his mother, Gloria, who moved into his Los Angeles house a few years ago following the death of his father, and says being the "baby" of the family has worked in his advantage.
Bradley said: "She is a very big part of my life. To be honest, I'm the baby of a Catholic family from Philadelphia and I definitely made the most of the situation. My parents, who come from Ireland and Italy, were much more strict with my older sister. I was able to do what I wanted, no one really set any rules for me."
The handsome star also admitted he is a pro in the kitchen and loves cooking for his family.
Asked about his secret talent, Bradley replied: "Being a good chef. I owe it to my grandmother. From the age of 15, and for a few years after that, I worked in a restaurant. I love having my family over for dinner and making lovely meals for them. I'm especially good at cooking turkey!"

Demi Lovato has banned anyone from using drugs or alcohol from her upcoming 'Neon Lights' tour.
The 'Heart Attack' hitmaker wants everyone involved in her tour to stay clean following the death of Philip Seymour Hoffman, who tragically died in his New York City apartment over the weekend after experiencing a relapse, according to RadarOnline.com.
The 21-year-old singer - who has battled and overcome cocaine addiction in the past - believes her shows should be about putting on the best performance possible for her fans instead of a time for wild partying.
Speaking on TV show 'Extra' recently, she said: "Everyone on the team is required to stay clean and focused. It's not about trying to party. It's about putting on the best show and everyone needs to be in tip top shape. That's how it should be for every tour."
Demi also expressed her heartache and sympathy towards the Oscar-winning actor - who was allegedly found with a syringe of heroin in his arm at his West Village home - after learning of his failed attempt to stay clean.
She said: "People don't take [addiction] as seriously as it is. It's a mental illness and it's a disease ... There's no pill that's gonna change it.
"People need to have compassion for it. Rather than, being a former addict, looking at it as I had a choice, because at some point in my disease I didn't. I physically and emotionally couldn't live without it. That was my medicine to my pain."

Dakota Johnson is too embarrassed to talk to her parents about her 'Fifty Shades of Grey' role.
The 24-year-old actress is currently filming the big screen adaptation of E.L. James' erotic novel opposite Irish hunk Jamie Dornan, but admits she hasn't ever discussed the intricacies of her role as naïve Anastasia Steele - who gets entangled in an S&M relationship with kinky businessman Christian Grey - with her family.
Dakota - who will have to strip off naked for the part and engaged in very explicit scenes - blushed: "I think that I would love to have [my parents] experience it with me, but I can't really do that, just because of what it entails. I talk to them more about problems with my landlords. That's my talking point with my family."
The book trilogy has been dubbed "mommy porn" by the media due to its popularity with middle-aged women.
Dakota will be happy if the majority of the audience who see the movie - which also stars Rita Ora, Eloise Mumford and Luke Grimes - but she is anticipating a varied crowd.
She told the latest issue of Vanity Fair magazine: "I wonder if it will be like, 40 year old moms, which I am cool with. I love moms."
