Sherrie Hewson quits Loose Women

Sherrie Hewson has quit ‘Loose Women’.
The 65-year-old presenter has decided to turn her back on the ITV panel show after 14 years on the lunchtime programme in order to focus on her acting career.
Speaking on the show on Wednesday (03.08.16), she said: "I’m going to be leaving ‘Loose Women’ because it’s kind of time. I’ve kind of said everything there is.
"And so I’m leaving this seat so that someone else can sit on this seat for 14 years and tell all their stories. But I have to say, like Arnold Schwarzenegger said, I’ll be back!"
Although the blonde star has decided to walk away from the programme, she has nothing but praise for it as she believes it helped pull her out of various dark places.
She explained: "I think ‘Loose Women’ is one of the most important shows on the television. Everybody relates to it and when I work in ‘Benidorm’ – and I’m there five months a year – there’s thousands of women that come up to me every day that say thank you …
"It’s been incredible, I’ve been here 14 years. And when I came here, I was not in a good place, my husband had gone and I was not happy.
"These girls have been amazing. They’ve got me through everything and it’s been wonder but I just want to say when I first came, I was in a very stressed condition and I lost all my hair and I wore a wig, which was just awful, and I got through that and then I was declared bankrupt, I got through that and all the time these girls were with me."
But the show hasn’t just helped her through the dark times, it also helped her acting career.
She said: "Fortunately for me ‘Benidorm’ came, which was five years ago … and now ‘Are You Being Served?’."
Meanwhile, although Sherrie is giving up her seat for someone else, her fellow panellist Coleen Nolan is adamant no one will ever be able to replace her.
She said: "Can I just say no matter what panellist comes on the show, now, in the future or whenever, there will never be another Sherrie Hewson."
Sherrie will be on the show until September 5.
