Sheree Murphy is set to host a new daytime cooking show.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ actress will front the forthcoming programme ‘The Big Chef Showdown’ as Michelin-starred chefs mentor amateur home cooks in a kitchen battle.
She said of her new gig: "I’m a huge foodie and a big fan of cooking shows, so to be in the presence of these world-class chefs every day is an amazing experience."
The new series will run over five days as four home cooks are put through their paces with various challenges from Monday until Thursday before the winner of each show – four in total – will go through to the final on the Friday.
The tummy-gurgling final will see the four professional chefs partner up with their winning home cook to fight it out in the professional-amateur showdown.
Three-star Michelin chef Pierre Koffmann, who will judge the final dishes and crown one duo at the end of the week, told Digital Spy: "The professional chefs are at the forefront of gastronomy in the UK. This is a chance for home cooks to learn from the best in the business."
Meanwhile, Sheree, 40, is no stranger to the heated kitchen environment as she battled it out in ‘Celebrity Masterchef’ last year but didn’t quite manage to nab the winning crown.
‘The Big Chef Showdown’ will hit screens later this year.
