Shawn Mendes is "a lot more self-aware" since he became famous.
The ‘Stitches’ hitmaker thinks he has become more "judgemental" of himself since he started in the music industry.
He told Notion magazine: "I think the biggest thing is how I feel about myself, I think I’m a lot more self-aware. I’ve never been more judgemental about everything that I do; I’m being a self-critic.
"I think, like, this has made be a little too aware, to the point where I feel it gets to me sometimes. Sometimes I wish that I could just turn my brain off, just tune out, turn it all off for a second."
Meanwhile, the 17-year-old singer previously revealed he worries about writing songs as good as Ed Sheeran can.
He shared: "I’m up against/next to people like Ed Sheeran who are just phenomenal and have had the time to hone their skills and I love that, but being up in those kind of charts, age doesn’t matter, who you are doesn’t matter – so you better get to the position where you can show yourself too, so I think it’s worrying because I feel like I haven’t had a lot of time to practice but I’m trying to make up for it in the meantime."
