‘Love Island’s Shaughna Phillips is smitten with newcomer Jamie Clayton, after discovering he’s not a scaffolder.
The 25-year-old democratic services advisor has been wronged by scaffolders in the past, as both her ex outside of the villa and her former ‘Love Island’ partner Callum Jones – who dumped her during Casa Amor for new girl Molly Smith – have worked in the trade.
So on Tuesday’s (11.02.20) episode of the ITV2 reality show, she was thrilled to be asked out on a date by new hunk Jamie, especially when she learned he has nothing to do with the profession.
During their date, she asked: "So have you ever considered being a scaffolder? And are you related to any scaffolders?"
Jamie, who works as a recruitment consultant, answered "no" to both questions, and after Shaughna said she does like a man with a "trade" background, he revealed he might just be the perfect man for her.
He told her: "I thought about this, because obviously I’ve seen a little bit of what’s been going on, and I think you think you want a scaffolder, but I reckon you need a bit of someone that’s had the sort of trade experience."
To which she confessed: "I do like a tradesman".
And the 28-year-old hunk then said: "Well I’m a plaster and tiler by trade."
Jamie turned on the charm by flirting with Shaughna after she asked if he would fix a hole in her ceiling, as he cheekily told her he’d fill "any hole".
She said: "So if I’ve got a ceiling falling through, you’re my guy."
And he responded: "Listen, any holes need filled … I’m your guy."
Elsewhere in the episode, Jamie also went on a date with single girl Demi Jones, who has been getting to know Luke Mabbott.
Demi admitted she wanted to get to know Jamie, but was still looking forward to spending more time with Luke at the same time.
‘Love Island’ airs every night at 9pm on ITV2.
