Love Island’s Shaughna Phillips admits she has feels for Luke Mabbott in tonight’s (12.02.20) episode.
The 25-year-old democratic services officer will tell some of her fellow Islanders that she gets on well with the 24-year-old heating engineer, leaving her best friend Paige Turley "shocked".
Shaughna – who went on a date with new Islander Jamie Clayton on last night’s (11.02.20) episode – tells Mike: "Do you know who I do get along with? Luke M."
Mike replies: "He’s a cool guy. Do you think you could possibly go there?"
Shaughna admits: "I don’t know.
"I think since Jamie has come into the villa and been chatting to me and what not, it’s made me realise some things. I think I might have some feelings for Luke M."
While Paige is initially surprised about Shaughna’s confession, she then struggles to see why she hasn’t worked out before that there could be a connection between the pair.
Speaking in the Beach Hut, Paige says: "Initially I was shocked. But maybe when you put all the pieces together, I’m shocked I’ve not seen it before.
"Every time he walks by, Shaughna drops him comments, every time he’s there, they flirt. She married him in the Snog, Marry… Pie game.
"Maybe the signs have been there and we’ve just never asked the question. So it’ll be interesting to see how this pans out."
Luke returned from Casa Amor with new girl Natalia Zoppa, but in the main villa she soon admitted there wasn’t a spark between the pair, which looks to have been a positive result for Shaughna.
She explains: "When things didn’t work out with Natalia, I was a little bit like, yesss."
And Shaughna admits she didn’t voice her feelings towards Luke before because he appeared to be coupling up with Demi Jones.
Both Shaughna and Demi were left devastated after Casa Amor when their respective partners Callum Jones and Nas Majeed brought new girls back, leaving them single.
But Shaughna appeared to be getting on well with Jamie on last night’s show, after discovering he’s not a scaffolder, like her ex Callum.
She asked: "So have you ever considered being a scaffolder? And are you related to any scaffolders?"
Jamie, who works as a recruitment consultant, answered "no" to both questions, and after Shaughna said she does like a man with a "trade" background, he revealed he might just be the perfect man for her.
He told her: "I thought about this, because obviously I’ve seen a little bit of what’s been going on, and I think you think you want a scaffolder, but I reckon you need a bit of someone that’s had the sort of trade experience.
"I’m a plaster and tiler by trade."
