Shanina Shaik has got married.
The 27-year-old model tied the knot with her beau DJ Ruckus – whose real name is Greg Andrews – on Lenny Kravitz’s private island Eleuthera in the Bahamas on Saturday (28.04.18) surrounded by their friends and family.
According to Us Magazine, Lenny’s daughter Zoe Kravitz, Evan Ross, Ashlee Simpson, Paris Hilton and model Nadine Leopold were among the celebrity guests who watched the happy couple exchange their vows.
The brunette star waltz down the aisle in a beautiful custom-made dress.
She said last weekend: "I’ve done almost all of my wedding planning myself, which has been quite overwhelming, but also really exciting because it will have so much of Gregory and me in the look and feel. I have a custom dress that is a little bit elegant bohemian because we will be getting married on the beach."
And getting hitched on a beach was a no-brainer for Shanina as she grew up in Australia, which is famous for its picturesque sandy beaches.
She explained: "Growing up in Australia, all Aussie’s love a beach, so we’d love to see that happen. Unfortunately, I won’t be having a wedding in Australia."
The couple got engaged in the same sun-soaked spot in the Bahamas at Christmas in 2015 following nine months of dating and, although the the pair are relatively private when it comes to their relationship, Shanina couldn’t resist discussing the plans she had for her big day shortly after the musician proposed.
She said at the time: "I think every girl pretty much dreams about what she would like for her wedding day, but I’m not very traditional . . . I actually want a small wedding; I don’t want a big, poufy dress. I want to be on a beach."
And, although they’ve been pre-occupied with their wedding, the brunette beauty doesn’t think it will be long before they start a family of their own because she’d ideally like a baby before she turns 30.
She said: "I’m at a place in my life where I’m transitioning. People are asking me when I’m having a family, which is so weird! I’ve come to that point in my life? Wow! I plan to do that soon. Before I’m 30. I’ll let Ruckus know."
