Serena Williams is reportedly poised to marry her fiancé Alexis Ohanian in New Orleans on Thursday (16.11.17).
The tennis star and Alexis, who is the co-founder and executive chairman of Reddit, plan to tie the knot in an intimate ceremony at New Orleans’ Contemporary Arts Center, but the high-profile duo are making every effort to keep details of their special day a secret.
In fact, guests have not yet been told the wedding location and have instead been informed that they will be collected at their hotel on the day, according to the New York Post newspaper’s Page Six column.
The event is expected to attract a star-studded list of guests, including Serena’s sister Venus, as well as the likes of Ciara, Kelly Rowland and Eva Longoria.
Serena, 36, is also close friends with ‘Suits’ actress Meghan Markle, who is Prince Harry’s girlfriend, and she is expected to be present at the ceremony.
It has been reported, too, that the guests have all been instructed not to post photos from the wedding day on social media, as Serena and Alexis, 34, have already signed an exclusive deal with Vogue magazine.
Serena has taken a break from tennis through most of 2017, after revealing in April that she was expecting her first child with Alexis.
And on September 1, Serena gave birth to a girl named Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.
Speaking prior to giving birth, the sports star said she was looking forward to the challenges of motherhood.
Serena explained: "I am looking forward to becoming a mother and coming back to the courts already. I’m always thinking about what’s next: the next victory, the next trophy … I intend to keep exercising for as long as possible while pregnant.
"I want the baby to be healthy and for that you need a healthy life. Also, when I come back to tennis it’ll be better if I’ve kept as fit as possible all the way through the pregnancy rather than having to lose a lot of weight afterwards in order to get fit again."
