Sean Wilson to take up cheese lecturing

Sean Wilson is to take up a career in cheese lecturing.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actor – who reprised his role as Martin Platt in the ITV soap earlier this year – will turn his hand to teaching by hosting cheesemaking courses from 2019 at Reaseheath College in Cheshire, north west England, where he first learnt all about the dairy product 10 years ago.
The cheesemaker wrote on Twitter: "At the request of Reaseheath College I’ll be returning to the class where it all started 10 years ago – as the lecturer.
John Alison and I will be hosting 2019 cheese making courses for all standards.
Please feel free to drop an inbox if interested Cheesemeisters. (sic)"
The 53-year-old star has offered fans a "good discount" if they enquire early about his cheesemaking courses, and told supporters the educational lessons could make a "great" Christmas present for people.
He tweeted: "Hey Cheesemeisters..
So, I’ll be hosting multi-day Soft Cheese Making classes at Reaseheath College, Cheshire in 2019.
This is where I started out 10 years ago and gave me a solid grounding.
Early enquiries get good discount. Just drop a message in inbox- great Xmas pressie (sic)"
Earlier this year, Sean admitted he was excited to be back on the ‘Corrie’ cobbles, and admitted he would be up for a longer-term return.
He told BANG Showbiz: "I’d definitely be up for it [coming back]. Definitely up for it … I think as time has gone by since October – which is when it was first brought to me – I had lots of thinking time and my character has so many connections.
"He has so many connections that if you were to put all the characters within the show around Martin in the middle, with a line diagram, how many connections would he have?
"Probably about 25 different connections with people and they’re all good connections in my opinion. Eye-to-eye, good and friendly or he used to have relationships with people years ago so there’s so much depth there.
"Editorially it would have to be thought about and whether they act upon it is completely up to the powers that be … This is the first time I’ve been asked back.
"I didn’t really know what I felt about it before the scripts arrived. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to come back so I’m really pleased. I questioned myself before I walked into the building but I’ve been really pleased with the way it’s all turned around."
