Scarlett Moffatt first found out she was presenting ‘Extra Camp’ after reading it in the paper.
The 27-year-old television personality is set to host the ‘I’m A Celebrity .. Get Me Out of Here!’ spin-off show alongside Joe Swash and Joel Dommett, but the star has admitted she never knew she was confirmed to helm the programme until she read it in a newspaper.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz at the Pride of Britain Awards, which took place at London’s Grosvenor House on Monday (30.10.17), the brunette beauty said: "I see Joel all the time, we were laughing about this the other day because we didn’t know who was doing ‘Extra Camp’ and he actually messaged me saying ‘Am I doing ‘Extra Camp’?’, I was like ‘I don’t know mate’. He said ‘I read it in the papers’, I was like, I mean until someone gives us a call I don’t know."
But the former ‘Gogglebox’ star has admitted she is "nervous" about her upcoming venture, but her "excitement" is outweighing her apprehension.
She explained: "I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous just because I want to do a good job but the excitement has overtaken the nerves."
Scarlett was crowned champion of the ITV show last year, and she hopes another female will take her crown.
Speaking about the new series, she said: "I’m so excited, I really hope that a girl wins it, I want to pass the crown over to a woman, proper girl power. And I hope that whoever wins the crown has as much luck as I have this year because it’s been crazy."
Scarlett also hopes Ant McPartlin, who was recently admitted to rehab following an "insane" binge of painkillers tramadol and morphine, along with alcohol, while recovering from knee surgery, will return to co-host the upcoming series with comedy partner Dec Donnelly.
Asked about Ant’s return, Scarlett said: "Well I mean that is the intention, we’ve spoken and I just think the more that people talk about mental health the better because then it’s got less of a stigma attached to it and that’s why I opened up about my anxiety and panic attacks I just feel that people shouldn’t feel that they are on their own because so many of us feel about it and nobody ever talks about it. "
