Scarlett Lee says graveyard proposal was ‘perfect’

Scarlett Lee says her graveyard marriage proposal was "perfect" and she felt like her grandparents "were there" with her.
The ‘X Factor’ runner-up got engaged to her boyfriend Nathan Shaw earlier this month, who popped the question besides her grandparents’ grave, and although she can appreciate that the proposal was unconventional she wouldn’t have wanted it "any other way".
Speaking to Christine Lampard on ‘Lorraine’, she said: "I didn’t want it any other way. It was so perfect; we’ve been together since we were children. I know they [her grandparents] were there."
The 21-year-old singer is currently on ‘The X Factor Live Tour’ and is living her "best life" at the moment as she has also started planning her wedding.
Scarlett’s mother is helping her with the planning stage but she already knows what dress she wants as she’s had an idea for a bridal gown in her mind since she was a "little girl".
She explained: "I sketched it [wedding dress] out as a little girl and it’s still the same. I’m living the best life now. My mum has a lot of input as she’s my best friend."
Scarlett was mentored by Simon Cowell on the last series of the ITV talent show and she has nothing but good things to say about her second "dad" because of the way he supported her and her family when they experienced a devastating fire at their home last year.
She said: "I can’t wait to show him my new songs. I definitely going back to LA as I want to enjoy it and not be so nervous."
Speaking of the blaze, she added: "He was like another dad to me, what he did for my family behind closed door and not in the press, I thank him."
